Selling jewelry can be like parting with the physical ties to memories and milestones- a birthday, an engagement, a celebration, a graduation, a coming of age, an heirloom. I pulled into the parking lot as Gavin was locking up the shop. He unlocked the shop to give me service even after I offered to make an appointment and return a different day. Incredible. He treated me and my jewelry with respect and kindness. He has a vast knowledge of jewelry from the creation through re-creation. He was transparent and told me values. He asked if I wouldn’t rather keep some pieces knowing that sentimentality might outweigh value. I left feeling good. Feeling that the transaction was fair and easy.
