I went to Essex to sell some of my gold jewelry and the employee not only did he not appraise the diamonds in the other stones but he wanted to offer me $1,500 and one of the bracelets that was appraised at Over $3000.00 6 years ago. Also, I had a pair of teardrop earring that was appraised at $1,700.00, 7 years ago. So I advised the him that he was adding insult to injury to offer me such a low amount that I declined and then he was like well I can give you $2000. I was so insulted because I knew the value and I went in there playing dumb or naïve to how much gold prices are and then to the quality. Please do not bring your jewelry here because it is a scam and I am not that desperate for someone to take advantage of my." Knowledge, or lack there of which was intentional" In order to Liquidate my jewelry In order to utilize my funds for a needed situation.

Terrible treatment. No greeting when I walked in and the young man behind the counter was dismissive of my inquiry for a watch appraisal. Why is t soon?I was there to sell a watch (although I asked for a watch appraisal) then said they don't do work with the Movado brand, but then he offered an appraisal for $150. Sincerely disappointed in the service.
